TEQIP-II sponsored 3 day National Workshop on “Recent Advances in Civil Engineering (RACE-2017) to be hosted by the Department of Civil Engineering, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur is intended to assist the students, researchers and professionals mainly from academic institutions, field engineers, scientific organizations, roads and building works departments, PWD, consultancy agencies, constructing companies, water resources and irrigation departments, groundwater and public health departments and other agencies of Indian country to share their knowledge and to develop mutual training and research activities. This intensive 3 day national workshop provides the theoretical information and practical hands-on training on recent advances in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on the emerging trends in the major field specializations such as: Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Integrated Water Resources and Environmental Management and Transportation Engineering. The recent advances in experimental and computational methods in the various areas of Civil Engineering are going to be addressed comprehensively by the eminent experts in this workshop.
