M. Tech. Programme in Computer Science & Engineering

In recent years, there have been a growing requirements & opportunities in academia as well as R&D industries for professionals with higher qualifications and research experience. Moreover, the academic growth and sustainability of the Institute largely depends on the nature and scope of the research & consultancy programme undertaken. Further, in order to remain vibrant as a teaching department with an up-to-date curriculum, a large number of research students are required to motivate and inspire the process of newer learning and innovation techniques.

In the light of above, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, N.I.T. Jamshedpur proposes to start a regular M. Tech. [4 Semesters] programme in Computer Science and Engineering from the academic session July 2015 – June 2016.

Programme Objectives:
  • Ability to apply knowledge of computing and mathematics appropriate to the discipline.
  • Ability to analyze a problem and define the computing requirements appropriate to its solutions.
  • Ability to design, implement, evaluate and test a computer-based system, process, component, or program to meet desired objectives.
  • Ability to function effectively on teams to accomplish a common goal.
  • An understanding of professional, ethical, legal, security and social issues as well as responsibilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
  • Ability to analyze the local and global impact of computing on individuals, organizations, and society.
  • Recognition of the need for and an ability to engage in continuing professional development.
  • An ability to use current techniques, skills, and tools necessary for computing practice.

Eligibility for Admission for M. Tech in Computer Science and Engineering:
  • Valid GATE score card in paper CS.
Course Fee:
  • As per Institute Rules.
Scholarship to GATE qualified students:

We strongly recommend M.H.R.D. grant for scholarship to the GATE qualified students as per Institute rules.

Duration of Course:

The normal duration of course shall be of four semesters (2 years). New academic session will start in the month of JULY of every academic year.
